How to spend time in Theth
Theth is a valley village of guesthouses: a stone church, a lock-in tower, Grunas waterfall, the Nderlysaj blue eye, and the pass trail toward Valbona. Ethnography here is a house visit, not a fake ten-museum list. There are no beaches and no coworking.
From Shkodër via Boga / the Kiri road, seasonal and weather-honest. Jeeps help when the road is a rumour. In summer vans leave the Shkodër yard early. Keep the URL thethi. Winter access is a different, often closed story.
June to September for the pass. July–August guesthouses fill; book. May and October are quieter and colder. Do not treat this as a city with Monday museum hours.
MOUNTAIN_SKIP applies: no beaches, no hidden-beaches, no coworking, no invented museums. Pools and waterfalls are river water. The lock-in tower is a cultural site, not a playground.
Valbona is the other valley; Shkodër is the hub; Kukës is the far gate via Koman for the other direction.
Start with things to do, food in restaurants, beds in where to stay.
Guesthouse is the infrastructure
Sleep and eat in the same houses. There is no 5-star strip. Book the bed, then walk.
Pass versus village day
Theth-to-Valbona is a mountain day with water and a start time. The church and kulla are a different, slower day.
Blue eye is Nderlysaj
Not the Saranda-area Syri i Kaltër. Same nickname, different water.
Road is the filter
If the Shkodër–Theth road is closed or a mud slide, believe it. Do not invent a city-bus.
