The second- largest port in Albania, Vlora is one of the most beautiful cities. it lies close to both sandy and rocky beaches with mountain peaks as a backdrop. This magic city lastly is the destination of many and many tourists. Called also “City of the flag”, it’s the spiritual home of Albanian independence, reflected in the central Flag Square (Sheshi i Flamurit) in which stands the Monument of Independence.
What to visit: Monument of Indipendence, in the centre of the city; the Mosque of Muradie; Historical Museum, Etnographic Museum. One proud point of Vlora is the “KUZ- Baba”, the highest point of the city.
Getting here: reachable by ferry from the port of Brindisi (Italy) and by hydrofoil shuttling between Corfu, Saranda and Himara. By bus from Athens, Tirana, Saranda and Durres. All buses stop and start in front of Muradi Mosque ( Xhamia e Muradies).
